An Industry Standard
For years, the Accumate® has proven itself to be the blade holder of choice on a wide range of doctors applied in all doctoring positions. It is the industry standard for use on most paper machine roll applications. Its versatility and simplicity of design are a result of a thorough understanding of the papermaking process. The Accumate blade holder is also recommended for heavy-duty applications such as reel drum, bottom calendar rolls and cut-off doctors in creping applications.
Rapid Blade Changing
The Accumate holder's design allows for rapid blade changes. Blades may be profiled to the roll at installation, eliminating the obsolete practice of shimming each blade. This facilitates rapid changes while maintaining the profile across the roll. Accumate holders are available in mild steel or 316 stainless steel. Durable, wear-resistant adjusting screws provide long service life as well as precision performance.
Uniform Accuracy
The Accumate holds the blade firmly against the roll. Micro-adjusting screws permit a uniform blade fit across the roll's entire face. These screws allow a 5/32 inch adjustment for surface variations so that, in normal use, the holder mounting bolts can be left untouched between blade changes. The micro-adjusting screws are located in the holder immediately behind each mounting bolt. As the adjusting screw is forced against the doctor back, it pivots the holder and blade onto the roll, as shown in Figure 1. When a roll wears, or its surface is changed, the Accumate holder's micro-adjustment feature enables the machine operator to consistently maintain a precise blade fit.
Easy Retrofit
Replacing KF-3 holders with Accumate holders is an easy operation; no major rework is required. A filler strip can be provided (Figure 2), and simple retrofit instructions are packed with every blade holder.
