Deflaking Equipment

 

Kadant offers two types of deflaking equipment: Topfiner and Hydraflaker.

The Topfiner is a toothed deflaker which proves to be very efficient for wet strength applications.The Hydraflaker is specifically designed for secondary fiber or for broke lines to allow deflaking of contaminated stock with limited cutting effect on contaminants.

 

Working Principle

The stock is introduced between discs with a limited clearance. The high speed of the rotating disc provides final disintegration of the remaining flakes.

 

Applications

  • Wet strength re-pulping lines
  • Brown grade lines, particularly those using pulpers limited in capacity
  • Broke lines

 

Features and Benefits

  • Good deflaking with the Topfiner, when used with a relatively clean stock
  • The robust design of the Hydraflaker, allows the use of contaminated stock
  • The presence of a junk trap in the Hydraflaker allows heavy destructive contaminants to be trapped and rejected
  • The Hydraflaker and Topfiner combination provides complementary deflaking results
