Use the potential energy of your fourdrinier to improve the performance of the entire paper machine.
V.I.D. is a patented formation system that harnesses the hydrodynamic energy produced by the wire speed to dramatically improve sheet properties and increase the drainage potential of the entire fourdrinier. VID's custom-designed, energy efficient blades:
- Pulse water back through the forming fabric
- Efficiently mix the stock suspension
- Decrease the drainage resistance of the sheet
This "counterflow" mixing action so completely independent from the drainage function of the V.I.D.
The separation of activity control from dewatering is what makes the V.I.D. unique.
With the V.I.D. Formation System, the traditional compromises in table design are no longer necessary.
Features/Benefits
- Wet end activity control across entire range of grades
- Enhanced drainage capacity without decreasing retention
- Increase in sheet physical properties
- Improved efficiency of all downstream processes
- Repeatable operation
- Timely, low-cost installation
- Improved formation
Blade Design
V.I.D. blades are designed to the specific requirements of the machine, using a combination of a proprietary mathematical algorithm and computational fluid dynamics. Blade profiles are designed to be energy efficient by minimizing turbulence and flow breakup beneath the forming fabric, keeping sheet activity under control, and preventing wash-out of fines and fillers.
Control
The blade adjustment mechanisms allow the papermaker the opportunity to change the amount of activity on the table as grade, speeds and furnishes may require.
- Independent attitudinal control flexibility
- Adjust on the fly to generate activity at low speed or dampen it at high speeds
Activity variation, coupled with a very high drainage capacity, make the VID the most powerful sheet forming tool available.
Installation
The V.I.D. System includes installation supervision, startup support and training services to ensure maximum efficiency. The entire system can be installed during a typical scheduled down.
